Blues Warriors Play for Backstoppers on STL Battlehawks XFL Field

The St. Louis Blues Warriors were honored to participate in a thrilling flag football game against the Firefighter Misfits on May 17, 2025, highlighting camaraderie, resilience, and community support.

Organized to raise awareness and support for The BackStoppers, this event emphasized the organization’s mission: to provide ongoing financial assistance to the families of fallen and catastrophically injured first responders in the St. Louis region. The BackStoppers help families with:

➡️ Eliminating the surviving family’s debt
➡️ Providing medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
➡️ Reimbursing for out-of-pocket medical expenses
➡️ Covering tuition and educational costs from day care through university
➡️ Paying home insurance, real estate taxes, and property taxes
➡️ Assisting with unforeseen extraordinary expenses

The game was part of a broader initiative to honor the sacrifices made by those who protect and serve, while also showcasing the strength and unity of the veteran community.

During halftime of the St. Louis Battlehawks game, fans were treated to an energetic and competitive flag football matchup between members of the Blues Warriors and local firefighters.

The Blues Warriors opened the scoring with a touchdown pass from Justin White to Neil Beatty, followed by a successful two-point conversion on a pass to Dillon Forbes, making it 8-0. Later, Justin White sealed the game with an interception returned for a touchdown, bringing the final score to 14-0 in favor of the Blues Warriors. The event served as a powerful reminder of the shared commitment to service that unites our community.

We extend our deepest thanks to the St. Louis Battlehawks for hosting this special event and for their continued support of both first responders and veterans.
