Job Description:

Director of Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising - St. Louis Blues Warriors

The St. Louis Blues Warriors exists to provide disabled military veterans with the opportunity to play hockey, regardless of prior experience, and to expand support for both hockey and veteran-related issues in the St. Louis area.

We foster physical wellness, camaraderie, and community among veterans, offering a supportive environment where they can heal, connect, and thrive both on and off the ice.

Position Overview:

As the Director of Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising, you will serve as a member of the organization’s board, driving fundraising strategy, execution, and community partnerships that directly support our mission. Fundraising is at the core of ensuring that the St. Louis Blues Warriors can continue to offer inclusive hockey opportunities to disabled veterans at minimal financial cost to them.

This role provides an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of veterans while building meaningful connections throughout the St. Louis community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Fundraising Leadership: Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet organizational needs, including annual fundraising goals, sponsorship targets, and donor development.

• Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with businesses, corporations, civic groups, and individual donors to secure sponsorships, donations, and long-term partnerships.

• Grant Writing & Management: Research, write, and submit grant applications that align with the mission; oversee compliance, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

• Event Support & Campaign Oversight: Lead or assist with fundraising events, donor campaigns, and community outreach activities.

• Community Representation: Serve as a visible ambassador for the St. Louis Blues Warriors, increasing awareness of our mission and programs throughout the region.

Impact of This Role:

The Director of Fundraising is instrumental in:

• Expanding corporate and community partnerships.

• Securing grant funding to cover equipment, tournament travel, and ice time.

• Enhancing the organization’s long-term financial sustainability.

• Increasing visibility and awareness of the Blues Warriors mission.

Board Role & Compensation:

• This is a non-voting board member position, providing leadership and guidance specifically within the fundraising and development area.

• This is a non-paying board member position.

Time Commitment:

• Estimated 10-15 hours per month, with flexibility depending on fundraising activity and events.

• Occasional evening or weekend participation for events and community engagements.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Passionate about supporting veterans and adaptive sports.

• Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.

• Experience in fundraising, donor development, or grant writing is beneficial.

• Self-driven and collaborative.
